ICAS Infection Prevention and Control Certification
Entry certification eligibility
- Educational certificate of at least a bachelor’s degree related to healthcare
- Actively working for at least 18 months in infection prevention and control (IPC) at a healthcare setting
- Completed training in IPC as evidenced by a certificate from a recognized education body or an infection prevention and control society (e.g. APSIC)
- Member of a registered national IPC society (e.g. Infection Control Association of Singapore)
Certification is valid for 3 years. The first certification is awarded upon successful completion of the certification examination.
Re- certification is awarded upon fulfilment of the following requirements in preceding 3 years:
- All of the above requirements for entry certification and having successfully obtained the ICAS entry IPC certification
- Regular update through journal readings and conference/seminar attendances
- Involvement in guidelines development and/or review workgroups
- Successful in implementing change leading to better and sustainable clinical outcomes
- Involvement in outbreak management team or pandemic preparedness team in organization
- Contributing to at least 1 paper in peer-reviewed journal/s.
Registration fee
S$150 to sit for the first exam.
Subsequently, re-certification is at $100

What to expect for exam format:
- 135 MCQs with 4 options as answers. Of these only 100 will be scored and 35 questions are test questions
- The questions are generally analysis or application type covering the curriculum (refer to document on curriculum).
